Book Reviews

For January I finished:

Pretty Woman by Fern Michaels, I found the book to be very funny and a great story. It is about an overweight woman who finally divorces her money hungry husband and loses a bunch of weight. She is able to find out who she is and reunites with her lost best friend. I plan to read this book again since I enjoyed the story and characters so much.

Return to Promise by Debbie Macomber, was a Christmas Story that takes place in Promise TX. It is a story on a families problems and how they are able to work them out. It was a typical Macomber book which is sweet and with an uplifting message. It was an easy read (one night) and I always enjoy Debbie Macomber's books.

I read the whole Dakota series also by Debbie Macomber the titles are: Dakota Born, Dakota Home, Always Dakota, and Buffalo Valley. The books all take place in Buffalo Valley, North Dakota and are about the townspeople and how they work together to save their town. They are again typical Debbie Macomber stories that are uplifting and a pleasure to read. I enjoy them but I need to take a break from reading her for a bit since I've read seven of her stories in the past two months and need a break.

A Month of Summer by Lisa Wingate was a book I picked up from the staff recommendation shelf and was a great story about a woman learning about her past and who her family is. She discovers secrets and a very big surprise in her own life.

The next post will have February books in it.
