We had a birthday party for Miranda on Saturday and invited our friends little ones. Miranda was worn out but would not nap. She seemed to like the party. She liked it even more when the kids left and she got to play with all her new toys alone.
She was not interested in the cake at all. But on Monday when we tried a piece she loved it.

It was the same with the gifts for my cousin's little girl at her first birthday. She wasn't into the opening all that much, but the fun started when the herd of people left the room and she was able to explore and play with her presents on her own.
