Last week we had a power outage. It would have been fine except we did not have heat in the house. We do have a fireplace but we did not get it cleaned when we bought the house and did not want to take the chance at having a chimney fire. On Friday Miranda and I checked into a hotel for the night. It was nice being warm but the hotel floor was filthy, it was vacuumed but Miranda's pjs were black from crawling on it. We did get the room for another night but luckily the power came back on so we checked out.
Miranda is doing great. She loves the presents under the tree. She bangs on them and crinkles the paper. We only bought her one present this year but the rest of the family bought her a ton of stuff. I know she is one lucky little girl.
She walks along furniture right now and tries to walk without holding on to anything but her balance is jsut not there yet. She does crawl all over the place and she is very fast now.
Aaron and I are also doing pretty good. We are just trying to get the house cleaned before his parents and brother come on Tuesday. We also have decided to make an effort of eating better so we set a good example for Miranda now we try to only get organic foods and we also started to eat less meat. I make some of Miranda's food but I also found it to be pretty easy to buy frozen organic fruits and veggies and heat and mash a serving or two at a time. I made butternut squash last night for her and she really liked it. She still does not like cereal or applesauce.

I love her in the flannel! Looks like a little yooper girl.
Love ya Mom
Yeah, dirty hotel floors are really common. When the quality of the hotel gets tested, one of the things they do is put this special little piece of paper on the floor to see how black it gets. The people at the hotel I worked for in Houghton always talked about how often they washed their carpets and how they'd always get great marks on that part of the test compared to the other hotels nearby. Not that it matters now though, since they closed and all.
Let me know if you're looking for any certain types of veggie recipes. I've got books and books of them. If you ever want anything, I could xerox stuff and send it your way.
